This famous song of Taare Zameen Par
by Prasoon Joshi says these words about ”Maa.
Main Kabhi Batlata Nahin
Par Andhere Se Darta Hoon Main Maa
Yun To Main,Dikhlata Nahin
Teri Parwaah Karta Hoon Main Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata, Hain Na Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata,,Meri Maa

Bheed Mein Yun Na Chodo Mujhe
Ghar Laut Ke Bhi Aa Naa Paoon Maa
Bhej Na Itna Door Mujkko Tu
Yaad Bhi Tujhko Aa Naa Paoon Maa
Kya Itna Bura Hoon Main Maa
Kya Itna Bura Meri Maa

Jab Bhi Kabhi Papa Mujhe
Jo Zor Se Jhoola Jhulate Hain Maa
Meri Nazar Dhoondhe Tujhe
Sochu Yahi Tu Aa Ke Thaamegi Maa

Unse Main Yeh Kehta Nahin
Par Main Seham Jaata Hoon Maa
Chehre Pe Aana Deta Nahin
Dil Hi Dil Mein Ghabraata Hoon Maa
Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Hai Naa Maa
Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Meri Maa

Main Kabhi Batlata Nahin
Par Andhere Se Darta Hoon Main Maa
Yun To Main,Dikhlata Nahin
Teri Parwaah Karta Hoon Main Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata, Hain Na Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata,,Meri Maa

Blessed are those who have their mother on whose shoulder they can lean when in distress.

Blessed are those who can share their ’downs’ with someone as non-critical as one’s mother.

A mother - is the one and only person who gives and expects nothing in return. Like God, a mother can never be aptly defined.

I consider myself blessed to have my mother, with whom I share every feeling of mine at any time. She is the most precious possession of mine.

...Those people are really fortunate who get a chance to serve their parents well.Let’s recognize their worth.

Another song is from Raja Aur Rank:

Tu kitni achchhi hai, tu kitni bholi hai pyaari pyaari hai o Maa

(Singer:Lata(1968))

Beautiful and touching songs Arvind.
Sunil Dutt’s Khandan was the first film I’ve seen and the song
”Tu ho ke bada ban jana apni mata ka rakhwala..is one of my favourite.
And you are right, those are really fortunate who consistently gets a chance to serve their parents.
Tu kitni achchi hai..I think this is from
”Balak” or ”Mastana”.

I want to share a beautiful story...

Why mother is so special ?
When I came home in the rain, Brother asked why didn’t you take an umbrella.

Sister advised, Why didn’t you wait till rain stopped.

Father angrily warned, only after getting cold, you will realize.

But Mother, while drying my hair, said, stupid rain! Couldn’t it wait, till my child came home? That’s MOM

happy mother’s day

You are right Karpagam Kannan and its impossible to describe the Mother in words. When Ganeshji was been asked to make parikrama [travel around the earth]of the earth,he just took it around his mother instead.

Yes Deepanjana,”Maa” is always special. She’s the first in all respect for her child.
We says mother tongue ..coz she’s the first tutor.
If you wants to know about the mother tongue of any person, just wake-up him and he’ll say ”o maa” or in his own mother tongue.
Even we use the word ”motherland” or Matra-Bhumi”.

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over.

Thanks Sherin Varghese,Vivekanand describe ”mother”
”The calm sea is the Absolute; the same sea in waves is Divine Mother. She is time, space, and causation. God is Mother and has two natures, the conditioned and the unconditioned. As the former, She is God, nature, and soul (humanity). As the latter, She is unknown and unknowable. Out of the Unconditioned came the trinity god, nature, and soul, the triangle of existence...
A bit of Mother, a drop, was Krishna, another was Buddha, another was Christ. The worship of even one spark of Mother in our earthly mother leads to greatness. Worship Her if you want love and wisdom.”
