The Language of our Mind.Mind your Language!

Its our routine ‘life’,we getsup,do our daily cores, routine work and like always after completing the all holy and unholy works, retire to bed.Our body refreshes, feel relaxed and fresh after a sound sleep, but what about the ‘Brain’,the control centre,it never sleeps, instead it thinks and work more freely during our sleep because its not involved in activities of making other parts to move.
Lets come to the main point, during sleep in which ‘Language’it thinks.
Its the very first language you learned, during the very first 6 yrs of your life.Like a new computer in which we install a ’software’,our brains also take up the first language we’ve learned, thats our mother tongue[in speaking term].
The simple way to know,in which language a person mind is thinking,or his mother tongue,is just hit him while he/she is asleep.

I totally agree with you. But what is the point you are trying to make? Any piece of writing, should have a purpose. I couldn’t figure out what the purpose is of your article.

Language can be the epitome of learning. And when you put dirty politicians in it middle of it, things get gory. Take the recent comments made by Raj...

Mind is the contoller, it can make yu or break you. why only the verbal language why not think in terms of total body language if you have to analyse a person’s character

Are you sure that while dreaming our mind speaks to itself in the mother tongue. But what about those people who have been brought up in foreign countries where they follow an alien tongue? We have all seen children who cannot or rather don’t speak in their mother tongue. What is the language of their dreams?

how can you get that person sleeping for you to do this in the first place?
And i think Vijay this time missed the point because more often than not people don’t dream with their mother toungue they dream on the language they are used to most.

Hey Vijay, your idea of hitting someone when asleep to know which language his/her mind is thinking is amusing.

However I disagree with the point that our mother tongue rules are words in subconscious state of mind.

My mother tongue is different then the language I am used to conserving since the last 15 yrs...thanks to my intercaste marriage. But I don’t see myself using my mother tongue in my dreams.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to hit someone in the head while they’re asleep. I’m not sure the person will thank me for it.:P Anyway, I’m not sure if you dream in your mother tongue. What are dreams anyway? Dreams, according to Freud, is a wish fulfillment. So I think you don’t always dream in mother tongue..maybe, in the language you’re always using everyday. If your mother tongue’s the language you speak daily, then you can deduce that your dreams might be encoded/enjoined in the said language.

And please, be careful with your spelling and grammar.:) I’m sorry but it bothers me when I see grammatical mistakes. Don’t do it for me..do it for yourself to make yourself understandable and clear. Ok?:)

Thanks Cristine,You are right and i’ll try,but it usually happens.Pl go through my article ”I know,I’m commiting mistakes some times....”.
Also,pl dont hit on the head, otherwise the person, whom you are hitting, maynot speak in future.

A person thinks in the language he has practiced to think. It may not be his mother tongue. Brain functions in a complex manner : Conscious or sub conscious. Most of the dreams are not in any language; it is visuals. You may keep the language out of it.

Thanks Ramesh ji,It all starts, when the brain starts storing information and analysing on that basis.Suppose you are seeing a tree and you’ll start observing
’kitna hara bhara ped hai’ and yes, when you goes home and think about it[visualisation] then also your mind say’kitna hara bhara ped tha’ not like’what a green tree that was.’

You are right Abirami, when your full body is involved, then there’s no need of words. You cant utter and becomes wordless, then minds play the role.

Well, I went through your article and the comments that followed but ultimately I found myself in a zone where I am clueless regarding the gist of this debate.

I strongly feel if you urge others to comment or even participate in discussions, you should form a solid ground first where others may tread on.
