India :

The former Chief Election Commissioner and now the Union Sports Minister Manohar Singh Gill started playing a new Khel[game] by sparking a new debate for naming Delhi as Dilli.
New Delhi which was anciently also known as Hastinapur,Indraprastha,Lal Kot,Shahjahanbad,Tughlakabad and general public also pronouncing it as Dilli,Dehli,New-Delhi.
In last ten years many places and cities got their new name, what difference does it make.on the contrary it creates many problems for General public,Tourists,Govt records etc.
If they wants to change, then change law and order of Delhi,
which is also known as ‘Hindosdtan Ka Dil”[The heart Of India].
Dil Ki Aisi Halat Hai To Shareer Kaisa Hoga.

Mr. Gill is behaving like a RSS person. It's the RSS which raises such issues in the name of Indian culture.

Andy,Shiv Sena,RSS and some parties of south made such demands.
If you are planning to visit south in near future, check out for the ”Current”name.
In future you’ll find a directory on book stalls for the ”Current Names Status”.

These are not the petty issues. Every country tries to protect it's culture. Most of the names of Indian cities are given by the Britishers. Britishers are no more ruling the India but we are still following them.

Prabhunarayan, less than one percent places are having British names and you are also rightly said that we must protect our culture.
But after 62 yeas of Independence, what’a the need and purpose of changing the name.
Most of the famous places in Mumbai have been renamed as ”Chatrapati Shivaji.....”,
Isn’t it confusing, even for Taxi drivers and general public.

Why even one percent? It just seems as justifying the British rule in India. We should gave all these places an India name. We should even boycott the commonwealth games. Commonwealth games also glorify the British colonialism.

It doesn't make a difference. as it is, mostly people call it dilli and not delhi.

Yes it is the point. When most of the people call it Dilli why to name it Delhi?
